have you used an overlocker before?

Yesterday I salvaged some old jewellery. I’m really into stacking up chains, and I’m loving silver.

The ring is actually a key ring, the knotted bracelet was once a necklace, the plain chain had some really odd charms on it, as did the bracelet with the big clasp.

Here’s some recycling for you: 3 out of the 4 pieces were my Mum’s! (Not the key ring!)

On a different note, even if you don’t sew you should once in your life use an overlocker sewing machine. They are so fun to use, I got to use one in Fashion and Design today, which is one of my subjects. The overlocker trims the fabric for you and then sews it with 3 threads so it doesn’t fray!

1 day down, only 4 to go…until the weekend!

I found your blog via your comment on the cupacakes and cashmere blog. I've been toying around with the idea of playing with jewelry; retooling it and taking something old and making it new. this post has inspired me to go ahead and do it already! Thx!
